Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has released a notification for the engagement of 42 Trade and Technician Apprentices at its Guwahati Refinery under the Apprentices Act. Candidates with B.Sc (Science) or Diploma in relevant engineering disciplines can apply for various trades like Chemical Plant Operator, Boiler, Chemical Technician, and Instrumentation Technician. The apprenticeship training period ranges from 12 to 24 months. Interested candidates must register on the NAPS/NATS portal and submit the online form. The last date to apply is 24 February 2026.

Indian Oil Recruitment Eligibility Criteria

(1) Trade Apprentice - Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant)

  • Qualification: 3 years B.Sc (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry.

(2) Trade Apprentice - Boiler (Mechanical)

  • Qualification: 3 years B Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry).

(3) Technician Apprentice - Chemical

  • Qualification: 3 years Diploma in Chemical Engg./Petrochemical Engg./Chemical Technology / Refinery and Petrochemical Engg.

(4) Technician Apprentice - Instrumentation

  • Qualification: 3 years Diploma in Instrumentation Engg/ Instrumentation & Electronics/ Instrumentation & Control Engg, / Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years

IOCL Limited Stipend 2026

  • Selected apprentices will receive monthly stipend as per Apprentices Act rules and IOCL guidelines. No HRA or company accommodation is provided.

IOCL Recruitment 2026 Application Process 

Eligible candidates will first have to register on the apprenticeship portal based on their trade - NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) for codes 101 and 103 and NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) for codes 104 and 107. After successful registration, they will have to log in and apply for IOCL Guwahati Refinery Apprenticeship opportunity on the respective portal. After applying, candidates will have to fill and submit the additional Microsoft/Google form available on the IOCL website with correct personal and educational details. The online application process will be open from 11th February 2026 to 24th February 2026.

Indian Oil Limited 2026 Selection Process 

The selection process for recruitment will be purely merit based. There is no written test or interview. Candidates who successfully apply by registering on the NAPS/NATS portal will be shortlisted on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in their prescribed qualification (total of all semesters/years), which will be arranged in the following order. In case of equality of marks, preference will be given to the older candidates (as per date of birth). Thereafter, the shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification and medical fitness test.
